‘The relationship between landscape architecture, delivery, and the spirit of Rotorua.’
For Boundaryline, Wai Ariki embodies more than a unique spa and wellness facility. It is grounded in te ao Māori and represents the coming together of a multitude of ardent individuals across a range of sectors, to produce a landmark for the Rotorua stage.
Engagement with tangata whenua and key stakeholders was integral to tell this story, and it was important for each aspect of the landscape to honour Pukeroa Oruawhata Trust and its people.
The collaboration between Boffa Miskell Limited, Natural Habitats Landscapes and Boundaryline Fencing Systems resulted in a project that gives recognition of how landscape can contribute to the quality of our urban and natural environment.
It was an honour to bring this piece to life alongside Matt Peacocke, Bradley Wise, Aaron Fisher and the visionary expertise from Paul Brandon, founder of Property Films. The more we can celebrate the work of others, the contribution of multiple parties to a project and hero landscape architecture, the brighter our future communities will be.
