We have the largest range of fencing in New Zealand available in a variety of designs, materials, and functions.

All of Boundaryline’s pool fencing products meet current NZ regulations. Our pool fence solutions are manufactured to the highest standards from the highest quality materials.

What are the fence requirements for a pool?

Your pool must follow pool safety legislation, the NZBC Clause F9 and 162C of the Building Act. In general terms, these laws state that any project:

  • Must enclose an area containing water more than 400mm deep.
  • May have a complete isolation barrier (four sides), or
  • May incorporate parts of the house, or/and
  • May include sections of an existing boundary fence.

The primary goal here is to restrict access for unsupervised children and to save lives.

What height fence for a pool?

Pool fences and gates must be at least 1.2m high. The gates must always swing outwards and be self-closing with gate latches must be out of children reach and self-locking.

Finally, be aware:

  • You need to register your pool with the local authority.
  • Your project must follow the Fencing of Swimming Pools Act 1987.
  • The new swimming pool must not be filled until your local authority has approved.

Even with these requirements a visually appealing and peace of mind pool fencing solution is achievable. Our team is available to help you to choose the pool fencing that will best suit your project. We are happy to answer any questions you may have or provide you with a cost estimate.
